Job Introduction

The Parking Criminal Enforcement Team Provide Investigative and Enforcement services, and when proportionate prosecution of offenders in aspects of parking related criminality.

Your new role

As an Assistant Parking Investigations Officer, you will support the Senior Criminal Investigator and wider Criminal Enforcement Team in investigating fraudulent use of parking permits, blue badges, season tickets and other parking‑related offences. Your work will involve examining parking systems and records, triaging intelligence reports, maintaining case files, and assisting with evidence gathering under relevant legislation. 

You will also support on‑street investigation and enforcement operations, engaging with offenders and the public, taking witness statements, and contributing to formal interviews conducted under PACE. The role includes preparing evidence for court, assisting with vehicle removals, and participating in planned operations that may take place outside normal working hours.

Who is the person summary: 

The ideal candidate will have experience in enforcement or a similar environment, strong administrative and IT skills, and confidence using databases and Microsoft Office. You’ll be able to review and process data, produce clear written reports, handle incoming enquiries, and communicate effectively with a wide range of people—including those displaying challenging behaviour. 

You must be flexible, able to work outdoors for long periods in all weather conditions, and willing to support operations during early mornings, evenings and weekends. A full driving licence is essential, as is the ability to converse clearly in English. You will also need to undertake any required training.
