General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

As part of any recruitment process, Portsmouth City Council collects and processes personal data relating to job applicants. Portsmouth City Council is committed to being transparent about how it collects and uses that data and to meeting its data protection obligations under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

Completing and sending an application for a vacancy is your consent for us to process your data for the purpose of recruitment. The Council uses a Google Chrome browser extension which makes use of  passive candidate creation, including sending an email to you when you create your account. From this email you are able to opt-out. 

Your data is not used in any other way other than for recruitment purposes. You can withdraw your consent at any point in the recruitment process and we will destroy or delete your information. 

You will automatically be placed into a talent pool and we will notify you of similar jobs that arise in the future which may match your skill set. If you do not wish to be included in the talent pool or notified of future job opportunities with Portsmouth City Council, please contact recruit@portsmouthcc.gov.uk and use Talent Pool in the subject of the email.
